Angelina Jolie, originally Angelina
Jolie Voight (born on the 4th of June 1975 in Los Angeles, California), is an
American actress, director and producer who is well-known for her sex appeal ,
as in her work for the cause of humanitarian aid. Jolie, the daughter and actor
Jon Voight, was raised in New York. After her early years, she moved to Los
Angeles, where she was the character of mentally ill patient in Girl,
interrupted (1999). She attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute
for two years, and after that, she enrolled at Beverly Hills High School. She
then studied drama at New York University. Apart from acting in theatre
productions, she modeled and appeared in music videos.Jolie's first
film-related part was in Hackers (1995) in the filming of which she had her
first marriage with British actor Jonny Lee Miller (married 1996; divorced
1999). Similar to several other films, Hackers did not garner a following.
Jolie, who played the role of the governor's wife of Alabama's segregationist governor
attracted a lot of attention in 1997. She later won an award called the Golden
Globe Award. Jolie played an actress who is struggling with addiction to drugs
in the HBO movie Gia in 1999. The performance won her numerous accolades,
including the Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award. After her
Oscar-winning performance from Girl, Interrupted, Jolie played in Pushing Tin,
a comedy with John Cusack, Billy Bob Thornton and Billy Bob Thornton. In 2003,
she was divorced. In Gone in Sixty Seconds ((2000)), she played the role of
Nicole Cage's lover. She later took on a British accent and learned combat
sports and kickboxing to play the roles in Lara Croft Tomb Raider (2003) and
Lara Croft Tomb Raider : The Cradle of Life (2004). In 2004 she portrayed the
mother of Alexander the Great in Oliver Stone's Alexander and also appeared
alongside Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law in Sky Captain and the World of
Tomorrow, a science fiction thriller set in 1930s New York City. Both films
were box-office failures However, Jolie was a huge success with Mr. &
Mrs. Smith (2005) the film in which she portrayed an assassin pretending to be
a typical housewife. While working on the film, she came across Brad Pitt, who
became her co-star.
